A. Warm up
Accident : an event that usually results in injury, damage, or loss
Example: Falling off a bike going fast on a sharp turn
Injury : harm or damage that is done
Example: cut knee and broken wrist
B. Case Study assignment
You will be looking at different examples of injuries causes by accidents. For each example, discuss and fill in the worksheet.
- what was the injury? (ex: cut knee, broken wrist)
- what accident caused the injury? (ex: falling off a bike going fast on a sharp turn)
- what is the consequence/impact of the injury? (ex: can't write, hurts to walk, no sports for a while)
- How could the accident have been avoided? (ex: slow down on turns, wear wrist guard)
